It is the sincere goal of my work to positively affect our existence by creating new avenues for us to understand and reflect on our surroundings. My practice is grounded in drawing, woodworking, and printmaking. I believe creating art is a transformative pathway to interact and grow with our surroundings rather than simply manipulate them. I enjoy working with wood as I can often participate directly in its harvesting and appreciate the organic, warm, and familiar properties of local species.

My artwork and teaching practice aims to nurture those very interactions with our surroundings and allow people to feel seen, heard and a part of something larger than themselves in various artistic communities, especially woodworking.

I am trained to teach the Arts to people of all ages, and in the past 5 years have had the privilege of focusing my practice on the art of teaching woodworking. I currently teach full time as the PK-8 Woodworking Instructor at Dedham Country Day School. I have been fortunate to be able to offer workshops at craft schools ranging from WoodenBoat, The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship and Herreshoff Marine Museum to The North Bennett Street School. I also currently teach summer workshops for children at Elements Learning Collaborative and LC Makers on the South Coast of MA and RI.

When I am not teaching woodworking or making art, I can be found farming, sailing, rock climbing, backcountry skiing, or tree climbing with my partner who is an arborist.
