My aims for both myself and my students in teaching woodworking and interdisciplinary arts are the following:

> Foster a deep understanding, compassion and appreciation of other cultures
> Bring awareness to the critical role of woodworking, alongside other craft and art forms, to develop civilizations and healthy people on every continent throughout history

> Continually transform into more well-rounded people and hone our senses through the process of working with wood--developing the skills of humility, patience, resilience, attention to detail and so many more
> Become aware of the immense power and potential our work has to be a tool for change when both the mind and body are pushed to their limits
> Be empowered by woodworking skills and be able to feel more ownership over our surroundings though the creation of wooden objects that are both utilitarian and expressive
